Why horses?

“The spirit of the horse,” quotes Tony, “is a magnificent teacher to humanity.” In both their physical, as well as their archetypal form, horses help to bring us back to something wild and unrestrained, reminding us of a sense of freedom that many of us have forgotten. Oftentimes referred to as “visual poetry,” horses truly embrace and reveal incredible beauty and grace.

They teach us about honesty and authenticity, because they know no other way of being. They teach us about collaboration over dominance. And they teach us to respect and honor the unknown, rather than fear it and try to destroy it

— Tony Stromberg

As healers, horses mirror our every emotion and are authentic to us. They pass no judgement over us. Their capacity to forgive is enormous. Deeply sensitive, horses notice every nuance of their surroundings and especially human emotions, truth and contradiction. Horses have no agenda with humans.

To experience horses as profound teachers, giving strength and stability to a world out of balance. To see a way to bridge “modern life’s disturbing separation between people and nature.” Horses can bring us back into a sensitive and acute focus with nature.
And that is why we carefully select each horse to help each human. The work is intense, slow and deliberate. Not meant to overwhelm the human, but to carefully unfold the emotions that embody deep inside the persona we all mask.

To that end we honor the equine spirit and celebrate their remarkable presence in our lives. Learning the nuances and habits of our most beloved equine companions in their natural environment allows our own inner spirit to be grounded. To connect once again with the earth.

Let us embrace them as the true friends and profound teachers that they are and have always been.
